Job Description:

WNIN seeks a part-time, temporary Auction Coordinator. The role’s primary responsibility is to solicit, compile and maintain donor information records for the WNIN Action Auction. Working directly with the Director of Events, the Auction Coordinator will research potential auction item donors and make solicitation phone calls. As items are received, this person will coordinate input of the auction item into the software database and place the merchandise within the warehouse. During and after the event they will provide assistance with Pick Up and Pay.  This role also supports administrative services to the auction department including filing and answering telephones. Strong customer service, communication and computer skills required. Other duties as assigned. EOE.

This position is temporary from January through May. It is part-time (20-25 hours, anytime Mon-Fri. 9am-5pm). Hours increase in April.  This year’s auction takes place April 20-April 26, 2015. This role is expected to be readily available to work a flexible schedule during event times.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Coordinates efforts of caterers, decorators, and volunteers when organizing set-up requirements.

Prepares various reports and composes correspondence.

Prepares and assists in collecting auction items.

Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

 

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

Experience in event planning and coordination

Strong customer service skills

Excellent writing skills

Computer skills

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying

Valid driver’s license

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to meet work schedules and work independently.

Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.

Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement various types of events and activities.

Ability to assess donor needs and develop a plan suited to meet those needs.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
