WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate, community-licensed public media outlet on the Ohio River in Evansville, Indiana. We are a primarily news/talk format, with a very active local content presence in Indiana and Kentucky. In addition to extensive local news reporting, WNIN’s signature programming includes our “Day Out” and “Regional Voices”  broadcasts, where we take our FM station out to a community for an entire day of in-depth coverage on issues and culture.


Job Description

We’re looking for the next, experienced bilingual intern to join our award-winning team at WNIN. As a joint licensee, the successful candidate will have on-air experience online and tv/radio. You will not be bored at WNIN! You will work with our Creative Core team to research, produce and distribute content on all distribution platforms.

WNIN is seeking a bilingual candidate preferably with experience in audio/video editing, writing and translating. The candidate will work closely with one of our senior producers, Paola Marizán, in the development of our new multiplatform podcast, ¿Qué  Pasá, MidWest?, including community engagement stories and bilingual political coverage. 

This show is aimed at the bilingual community and the curious. With segments rich in culture, this podcast represents the blend between traditions that explores the Hispanic/Latino and  migrant  diaspora  and how they are reshaping the American dream. The succesful candidate will be provided training accordingly. 



Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

-researching local stories and attending events

-scheduling interviews


-translating (Spanish <>  English)

-creative brainstorming

-audio/video editing

-social media management



Candidate must have;

-writing, interviewing, audio/video editing experience

-the desire to work with under-represented communities 

-self-starting attitude

-bilingual (Spanish<>English)
