Cass Herrington covers local news for WNIN and is the host and producer of The Trend, the weekly public affairs show.
Cass transitioned to WNIN in August 2013 after interning for the arts & culture desk at WBEZ, the public radio station in Chicago. She had previously reported for the public radio stations in Louisville and Lexington, while completing her undergraduate degree in journalism, international studies, and Spanish at the University of Kentucky.
Cass’ byline has traveled around the world, thanks to a story she wrote in college about wearing the hijab, or Muslim headscarf, for one month in college. She has a special interest in covering immigration, science and diversity.
The Louisville native now resides in downtown Evansville. You’re likely to catch her running along the riverfront or dangling from a rope at the local climbing gym.
