The annual Gala is held the end of January each year and is open to the public. WNIN brings in a celebrity speaker from either NPR or PBS. Along with the speaker, we offer hors d’oeuvres, desserts and an auction to help WNIN raise funds to celebrate and sustain Public Broadcasting for the Tri-State Community. This is a wonderful opportunity to support WNIN and get dressed up for an evening out!
Every December, WNIN offers a chance for your family to spend some holiday time with WNIN and your favorite PBS characters. Share cookies and a story with Santa. Participate in activity booths and watch a PBS Kids holiday film. A special gift will be given to PBS WNIN Kids Club members. This event is open to the public. Don't miss out on this holiday fun!
The WNIN Action Auction will take place April 22 - 28, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. It will broadcast live on WNIN 9.1 in its entirety. Each year, over 800 local businesses donate items, and over 600 community volunteers staff the Action Auction!
The Haunting at WNIN paranormal convention is held at the historic Carpenter Home in Downtown Evansville each October. The Haunting at WNIN features guest speakers and vendors from across the Tri-State. The convention will be all day with an exclusive lock-in at WNIN that evening. Tickets are available for the convention and speaker or a full day ticket that includes the lock-in. From the most hardened skeptic to the most seasoned ghost hunter... there will be something for everyone!
Hidden Treasures Rummage Sale & Appraising Fair takes place each June in the yard of WNIN. Hidden Treasures connects the community and its love of bargains with the popularity of Antique Roadshow. Items from the April auction are sold here. The community also sets up booths with treasures for everyone.
The annual Kids Fest, presented by Bunny Bread, is held in the month of September at the WNIN studio located at 405 Carpenter Street in downtown Evansville. WNIN brings in PBS Kids characters as well as other entertainment such as a magician, dancers, and tumblers. Booth vendors have a variety of hands-on activities to engage the children as well as information on health and well-being. It is always fun at the Kids Fest!
