Create Con brings together those interested in promoting a brighter tomorrow. This includes local business owners, non profit organizations and innovators who wish to collaborate, network and inspire one another.
Hosting exhibitors and demonstrations, Create Con will feature speakers and topics related to creative thinking. This can range from DIY experts to those who have built a business spurred from a creative idea.
Special guests Matt Williams, Dete Meserve and Dave McFadzean, University of Evansville alumni who have created shows such as Roseanne and Home Improvement, will be present with a special presentation on their latest children’s production, Ready Jet Go! They will also be hosting a Q&A session about the Hollywood television and film industry.
Matt Williams is a graduate from the University of Evansville and is a founder and principal of Wind Dancer Films. His work has been honored with both Emmy and Humanitas Prize nominations as well as sharing a Peabody Award for outstanding achievement in television writing.
Dete Meserve is a graduate from the University of Evansville and an accomplished creator and producer of independent movies and award-winning television shows as well as a best-selling and award-winning novelist. As a principal with Wind Dancer Films, Meserve is leading the company’s growing animation brands, including the PBS KIDS series Ready Jet Go!
David McFadzean is a graduate from the University of Evansville and is a founder and principal of Wind Dancer Films. Under the Wind Dancer banner, McFadzean co-created and executive produced Home Improvement. His film producer credits include Bernie, What Women Want, and Where The Heart Is.

There is nothing more inspirational than a peaceful yoga session along the scenic Evansville riverfront. Join veteran yoga instructor Mark Goltiao (owner of Evansville Power Yoga) for a quick stretch outside with views of the Ohio River as your background. This is a perfect way to take a break and work on your poses while taking a moment to explore new creative possibilities.
It's All Greek To Me

Growing up in Cyprus, Chef Doros Hadjisavva worked at various restaurants as a teen. There, he learned how to make many regional dishes. Join Chef Doros, chef and owner of Acropolis Restaurant, as he teaches you some quick, easy, and healthy Greek recipes. This is a great way to learn how to make some of your favorite Greek dishes right in your very own kitchen. Opa!
Pens With Pem
Demonstrator: Pem Pfisterer Clark
Pem Pfisterer Clark is a professional artist, art instructor and illustrator of children's books, including An Elephant Story for Alex, Zingway the Monster and Clover Pies and Raspberry Skies, authored by Martha McKown. A University of Louisville graduate with degrees in Fine Arts and Elementary Education, her artwork has sold in 17 countries throughout the world. Join Pem for her beginning art class where she will teach you the basics of drawing with pen and have your own work of art to take home.

Demonstrator: Moriah Rose
Raise the bar on your home bar with Moriah Rose. Moriah currently works as the Lead Mixologist in the Blue Bar at Sauced in Haynie’s Corner Art District. There she makes beautiful hand-crafted cocktails and she is experienced in providing her guests with an experience that is unforgettable. Join Moriah as she teaches the basics of your favorite cocktails so you can be ready for your next in-home party.

Demonstrator: Phillip Seitz
Stop motion animation is an intricate animation technique where the animation is manipulated by hand, one movement at a time, to create a seamless look. It is used very heavily by director Tim Burton, as well as in the Gumby franchise. Newburgh native Phillip Seitz started making films as a child for fun. He then turned his hobby into a career in motion graphics. Join him and learn how to create your own stop motion film. After Phillip shows you how, you can use characters and make a movie for yourself.
DIY Publishing, Made Easy

Demonstrator: Dr. Karin Drummond
Once Dr. Karin Drummond discovered how easy it was to publish a book, she decided to take advantage of this medium to help spread her thoughts on living well by writing and self-publishing Top Seven Ways to Combat the Effects of Sitting. Since then she has published seven more books and there are more on the way! Join Dr. Drummond as she shows you the exciting process of self-publishing. She will help you navigate the process of editing, publishing and marketing your masterpiece.
Beumont Grinn Productions: Giant Vision, Tiny Budget

Demonstrators: Beumont Grinn Productions Team (Warren Hayes & Fred Hillenbrand)
Join the team from Beumont Grinn Productions as they construct and assemble one of their unique parade puppet creations. During the presentation, they will showcase several of the various types of puppets they have created over the last several years as well as discuss the creative use of building materials and techniques while on a tight budget. Get an up-close look at these innovative puppets in action as they parade them around Create Con!
Art As Expression
Demonstrator: Sherry Groff
Art journaling combines intuitive illustration with authentic written words, all in a bound journal, to create a truly unique form of expression. This style of journaling combines all types of art supplies. The artist moves smoothly from one form of free flowing mark making to the next, limited only by their imagination. Sherry Groff has been involved with relaxed art making for over 30 years. She has experimented with a large variety of art mediums and currently facilitates a creative art journaling group every week. Join Sherry as she introduces you to this popular art form, enabling you to create your own art journal entry.
Robot Petting Zoo
Demonstrator: Michael Cherry
Participate and watch competitive robots in action as they compete to score as many points across the opposing side’s playing field as possible during a two minute match. Michael Cherry, Teen and Youth Librarian at the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, will introduce you to this exciting interactive and educational competition that uses VEX Robotics kits. Join Michael to learn more about creating and building competitive robots.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in the Moon Festival hosted by Evansville Museum.
