Incumbent Democrat Brad Ellsworth and his Republican challenger Greg Goode agree that energy is one of the defining issues in the race for the 8th district congressional seat. But they differ on how to deal with soaring costs. Today (Wednesday), Goode offered policy ideas and announced a fact-finding trip the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

State Treasurer Richard Mourdock today announced Indiana will make 50 million dollars available to farmers whose crops were damaged in last months floods. Farmers will be able to use these state funds to leverage federal money to clean up their flood-damaged fields.

Yesterday, a federal court struck down a new Indiana law on the day it was to take effect. The law required bookstores and other retailers to pay a registration fee if they want to sell sexually explicit material.
