6-2-2008 According to the American Diabetes Association, 21 million people in the United States have diabetes, but nearly a third of them don’t know it. Sixty thousand Tri-State residents are diagnosed with the disease,
and one in four Hoosiers has a blood sugar level that signals a pre-diabetes condition. Any advances in diabetes treatment are big news here. That’s why information about how the incretin (INN-crea-tin) system contributes to the advancement of Type II diabetes is causing such a buzz at area health care conferences these days.
