Evansville at War: A Documentary by WNIN and Court Street Productions

WNIN and Court Street Productions present Evansville at War, a two-part documentary highlighting Evansville, Indiana's role in the World War II effort through the personal stories of members of our community. 

The documentary is scheduled to air in December 2016 in honor of the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. For more details, follow our Evansville at War Facebook page.

 

Directed by Joe Atkinson

Joe Atkinson is a documentary filmmaker and the Digital Multimedia Specialist in Residence at the University of Evansville. Atkinson has produced 10 episodes of the WNIN original program Top 9 and a feature-length documentary From the Ashes, which tells the story of the 1977 University of Evansville men’s basketball team and the plane crash that killed 29 people, including all 14 players on the team.

Dr. James MacLeod

Dr. James MacLeod has been a member of the History Department at UE since 1994, where he teaches courses in European History and the two World Wars. Dr. MacLeod is the author of Evansville in World War Two, which was published in 2015, and is working on another book on the longtime editorial cartoonist of the Evansville Courier, Karl Kae Knecht, to be published in 2016.
