It's my source for what's going on in the world! I work full time and volunteer at two organizations during the week so my "tv time" is limited. I love listening to the local NPR because like national NPR, they ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS! So many times, those giving the interviews zone out or ask from a prepared set of questions. The questions asked on NPR show enthusiasm for the job and attention to detail so they receive the most concise and informative answers. I'd listen to NPR over tv any day!

When I started my marketing communications business several years ago, I didn’t have much budget to advertise, so when I came across a WNIN FM 88.3 advertising package at a charity auction, I bid on it, and won it. I wrote a little 30 second “commercial” about my business and, you’re not going to believe this – within a week or so of when it began airing on the radio, someone actually called me, out-of-the-blue, someone I’d never met before. She was new in town, the VP of marketing for a substantial new business in Evansville and she heard my little commercial on 88.3, wrote down my number and called. We met and I made a presentation to their marketing team and, for several years, this business was one of my most active clients. I know that part of our business relationship was established because of where she found me – advertising on WNIN set me apart – it told her more than what I could do. By advertising on WNIN, I told her a little about who I was.

WNIN is my source for good clients.

My husband and I were in Boston recently. We hailed a cab near Harvard Square. The driver asked where we were from and we said Indiana. He immediately connected us with Indy car racing. We found out that he was from Haiti, he was marriied and had a young daughter. We chatted for a while and we soon settled back to enjoy the surroundings. Then we heard that smooth soothing sound of Terry Gross from Fresh Air. In that moment there were no more borders. We were on common ground. We were all fans of public radio. That cab felt like home to us. WNIN is my source of comfort for the soul.
